Our Approach to Functional Medicine
Our Approach to Your Health
Meaningful change begins with understanding more ~ not simply doing more.
At The Center for Intentional Health, we take the time to look at your health as a whole—your history, physiology, experiences, environment, goals, and the interconnected systems that influence how you feel and function.
Our approach brings together Functional Medicine, modern science, and thoughtfully selected integrative therapies to identify patterns, explore underlying contributors, and develop a clinically guided plan that evolves as we learn more about you and how you respond.
Because better health isn't found in a formula.
It begins with understanding, exploring what is possible,
and making intentional choices about what
we do with what we learn.

What Makes Our Approach Different?
We Listen to Understand.
Your history matters—not only what has happened medically, but what has changed, what you have experienced, what you have tried, and what matters to you now. We make time to listen, ask questions, and look for patterns that may help us understand the broader context of your health.
We Think Beyond Today
Addressing what concerns you now is important. So is considering what may influence your health over time. We look for opportunities to strengthen foundational physiology, reduce modifiable risks, and support the body's capacity to adapt—using nutrition, lifestyle, appropriate testing, and clinical interventions when indicated.
Your Participation Matters.
Meaningful change doesn't happen only during an appointment. We provide clinical guidance, education, and recommendations; you bring your questions, choices, participation, results and follow-through. Goals are established together, while recommendations remain clinically guided by what we learn about how you respond.
We Follow What Changes.
Health is not static, and neither should your plan be. We follow response over time, reassess when appropriate, and use what we learn to refine recommendations as your physiology, circumstances, and goals evolve.
Not Sure Where to Begin?
You don't need to know which pathway, program, or approach is right for you before you contact us. That's something we can help you determine.

Built on a Functional Medicine foundation, our Core Pathways help us understand where concerns may be centered and how
systems may be influencing one another.
Our Specialized Programs provide a more focused approach within
those pathways, bringing together advanced regenerative, restorative,
and integrative therapies around defined health goals.
Whether your needs involve one pathway or several,
we build from a broader understanding of you.
We are proud to serve individuals and families throughout Overland Park, Kansas, and the greater Kansas City metropolitan area.

Functional Medicine Enhanced Through Integrative Therapies
After many years in nursing and rehabilitation, I came to see how much more was possible when care moved beyond symptom management and toward understanding the whole person. Long before functional and integrative medicine became widely recognized, I was drawn to these approaches and committed to offering patients a more thoughtful, personalized level of care.
That commitment led me to pursue advanced training across multiple health sciences and to learn from respected leaders in these fields. I continue to study with curiosity and optimism as our understanding of health continues to evolve.
I am equally committed to learning about you. Our work begins by listening carefully to your story, reviewing your history, and understanding your goals. You should never feel rushed or unheard.
Together, we create a personalized plan that may include conventional and functional testing, lifestyle medicine, nutrition, and integrative therapies based on your unique needs. As your body responds and your priorities evolve, we adjust the plan thoughtfully along the way.
My role is to guide, educate, and support you through each phase of your journey—helping you build clarity, resilience, and a more sustainable path to wellness.

A Different Approach Begins with the Right Fit
The way we practice requires time, attention, and active engagement. To preserve the time and attention this approach requires,
we intentionally limit the number of new clients we accept
and thoughtfully review each inquiry before
offering an initial appointment.
This allows our team to remain fully present for the people who entrust us with their health—and to consider whether our experience, approach, and resources can meaningfully contribute
to what you are seeking.
If we believe The Center may be the right fit for you, we will invite you to schedule an initial consultation.
Because there is a better way!
